Favourite Thing On A Friday - Beautiful Words

I love that words can change how I feel.  I love that I can read something and feel lifted, loved or moved.  I think words are really beautiful.  I'm experiencing a very powerful blend of M.E. symptoms.  The past few weeks have been difficult.  They've felt really messy.  I knew things weren't good when I realised I'd lost my sense of humour around it all.  I know.  One of the things that makes life fun for me is the fact that I make myself laugh so much.  At my own expense.  Even when others aren't joining in.  And tumbleweeds are rolling across the carpet.  You can usually find me tittering at the back somewhere about something I've tripped over/stood in/dropped.  I woke up earlier this week with no titter.  Instead I was feeling really blue.

I'm resting up in a bid to get my sense of humour back.

Then today I found these words...

It felt good to remember this.

I hope that today, you are having one of the best days of your life.

  1. I have a card that says 'It will be ok. It just will.' I don't know why but it gives me great comfort. Big hugs to you.

  2. Oh Em, I'm so sorry you've been having a rough time of it! All I can say is that I wholeheartedly agree with those words. We have fantastic memories but there are still so many more to make :-) I fairly recently found a little exercise book back home that my Mum had kept from my primary school days - when I was 6ish I wrote story about a princess who was crying. An old lady came along and told the princess that 'things are always okay in the end. if it's not okay then it's not the end yet'. I should really frame that and stick it on my wall!

  3. Sorry you've been feeling blue Emma, and hope your symptoms ease up soon. I love Jem's story - great phrase to hold on to. Six year olds can be very wise!

  4. Sorry you are having a tough time at the moment - hope it all improves soon. You've probably already thought about it, but could it be related to the shortness and darkness of the days? I'd love to think it were that simple, and know it may not be... I too love Jem's wise six-year-old words!
    Rest up and take care.

  5. I hope you feel better, if not now, then soon. You seem a very positive, upbeat person, and its a shame more people don't use s sense of humour to get through life.
I feel all warm after reading all the lovely phrases Im here - Jem should definitely frame her maxim.

    Have a lovely weekend,

  6. Here's a quote..say pooh to the blue! :)
I know, very mature and yes..easier said than done. Best just to go with it and be gentle on yourself, before you know it the titters will be sneaking back in.
Thinking of you sweet Em,and sending great BIG hugs.

  11. In time all things change so keep laughing and trying. Illness is one of the hard trials in our lives. A little prayer helps a lot and time will heal. I hope that you are feeling better.
