Peonies

Untitled

Last weekend my dad cut some peonies for me from his and my mum's garden.
Here they are in full bloom.
Peonies are one of my favourite flowers.
What's your favourite flower?

  1. Your peonies look just beautiful Emma. I am not really sure what my favourite flower is. I like roses and Foxgloves very much, but daisies too.

    Have a lovely weekend!

  2. Rather fond of peonies too; I love the overblown-ness of them. Poppies, irises and roses are in my dream bouquet / garden also.

  5. Oh my goodness, I just came from another bloggy friend who had a lovely PEONY post too. It said that in full bloom they symbolize Peace. They are so pretty. As you know, my favorite flower is the rose...pink, yellow, white, but especially the red. Have a sweet day.

  6. I love sweet peas, they're so delicate (unlike me!).

Did you see the unusual flower on Kylie's post?

Wish we had flowers like that over here!

Love the blog makeover - you must have so much patience, it's so well designed.

  8. Lovely photos. I'm getting ready to travel back to the US for a visit, which I'm really excited about. It will be hot though, not like the good old (wet) Irish summer.
I like hydrangeas because of their almost candy floss colour that doesn't look real, and also because their colour changes with soil acidity.
Azaleas smell lovely and look lovely too. Then foxgloves I also love because of their name and nature.
But little wildflowers, like daisies and even dandelions, that just grow and pop up where you least expect them have such a quiet resilience that they deserve to be enjoyed just as much.

  9. Peonies are one of my favourite flowers. And you are so clever, what with the new buttons in your sidebar!

  10. Bluebells - not only do I love the shape and smell, but it usually signifies that winter is definitely over.

Mind you, with the currnet weather, it feels liek autumn has arrived early...
